Get down and into the forest!
Nature cannot be overemphasized, because Saimaa is undeniably one of the most beautiful regions in Finland.
You can, of course, go to enjoy the greenery of the forest, the smells and the birdsong in the countryside near the cottage.
In late summer and autumn, we advise you to go to the berry and mushroom workshops.
In addition, there are guided hiking trails in Sulkava and the surrounding area.
Explore, for example, the following nature sites:
- The green gold hiking route
- Vilkaharju, i.e. "Little Punk Harju" is four kilometers long in the form of a beautiful ridge. There are marked nature trails on both sides of the road that cuts through the ridge.
- Lohilahti's finest hiking and canoeing routes
- Linnansaari National Park Rantasalmi
- Climb the stairs to the top Pisamalahti Linnavuori in Sulkava
- Sarsuinmäki cannon battery on Partalansaari
Get out on the water!
Row, paddle, fish, snorkel...
Sulkava is famous for rowing, and Sulkava Suursoudut attracts thousands of people every July. One of our cottages, Veikkola, is located along the rowing route.
Of course, you should also row yourself.
Most of our cabins have rowing boat for free use of guests.
You can take a boat to explore the nearby islands or take a look around to see if you can see a norpa frolicking on the beach.
If you want to go further by boat, you can rent a light motor from us.
Ready-made kayaking routes
You should check out the canoeing routes
- Lohilahti's approximately 30 km long paddling trails mixed
- Squirrel route, which runs from Juva to Sulkava church village.
Most likely, the bed will be in a state of descent from the beginning of summer.
There are rest stops on both routes.
